Double D Services offers a comprehensive appliance recycling
program. They accept washers, dryers, dishwashers, disposals, ranges, refrigerators,
freezers, air conditioners, evaporative coolers, microwaves, furnaces,
baseboard heating units, ovens, hot water heaters, cook tops, trash
compactors, ice makers, and all gas and electric appliances.

The Mesa County Landfill accepts tires and regular household
garbage. The landfill will NOT accept items with the following properties:
waste containing a “free
liquid” or hazardous waste, appliances containing Freon or which aren’t
certified as “Freon Free,” materials that produce large quantities
of dust when disposed, auto batteries or wastes containing mercury, electronics
(such as computers), and special wastes such as biomedical materials,
sludge, bulk tires and asbestos.

Located just inside the entrance to the Mesa County Landfill
on Orchard Mesa, the Hazardous Waste Collection Facility accepts all of
the
antifreeze, oil,
automobile batteries, paint, pesticides, automobile products (such
as antifreeze), spa and
pool chemicals, old gasoline, aerosol cans, household cleaners,
and garden and hobby products.
